“모든 부처님들 지혜는 매우 깊어 헤아릴 수 없으며, 그 지혜문은 이해하기도 어렵고 들어가기도 어렵느니라.
일체 성문 벽지불들도 알수 없는 것이니, 어떠한 까닭인가? 부처님께서는 일찍이 백천만억의 무수한 온갖 부처님들을 가까이 친견하셨고, 모든 부처님들의 무량한 수행법을 모두다 행하시니, 용맹정진하는 이름이 널리 알려지고, 매우 깊은 미증유법을 성취하셨는데, (미증유법 : 지금까지 없었던 진리법) 상황에 따라 달리 설하셨던 것은 그 뜻이 이해하기 어려웠기 때문이니라.
사리불아, 내가 성불한 이래로 갖가지 인연과 갖가지 비유로 넓게 펼친 언설과 교법은 무수한 방편으로 중생들을 인도하여 모든 번뇌를 여의게한 것이니, 무슨 까닭인가? 여래는 방편바라밀과 지견바라밀을 이미 모두 구족하였기 때문이니라.
사리불이여, 여래의 지견은 광대하고 깊고 아득하니 헤아릴 수 없고 걸림없는 지견의 힘으로 두려울 것도 없고 선정의 해탈삼매로써 끝없이 깊이 들어가 일체의 미증유법을 성취하는 것이니라.
(4무량, 4무애변, 10력, 4무소외 등으로 해석하기도 한다.)
사리불이여, 여래는 온갖 것들을 (체계적으로) 분별하여 모든 것을 기막히도록 정교하게 설할 수 있으니, 언사가 유연하여 가히 중생들의 마음을 기쁘게 하느니라.
사리불이여, 요점만 취해서 말하자면, 셀 수 없이 많고 끝없이 광대한 미증유법을 부처님은 모두다 성취하셨느니라.
그만하자 사리불이여, 다시 말할 필요가 없으니, 무슨 까닭인가? 부처님께서 성취하신 가장 희유하고 이해하기도 어려운 미증유법은 오직 부처님과 부처님들만이 제법실상을 남김없이 궁구할 수 있기 때문이니라.
이른바 제법이란 이와같은 모습이며, 이와같은 성품이며, 이와같은 바탕이며, 이와같은 힘이며, 이와같은 작용이며, 이와같은 원인이며, 이와같은 인연과 이와같은 결과와 이와같은 응보이니, 이와같이 근본에서 끝까지 구경에는 평등하느니라.”
